Real Madrid was defeated 2-0 by Chelsea in the second leg of their semi-final tie on Wednesday evening, Timo Werner and Mason Mount grabbing the goals for the Blues. The former Blues player Eden Hazard also became popular but for all the wrong reasons, Hazard’s laughing and celebrating with his former teammates has not gone down well among the Real Madrid faithful.

It was a dominant display by Thomas Tuchel’s side, with Real Madrid being second best for pretty much the entirety of the game.

The Los Blancos just couldn’t create enough meaningful chances and much of that was down to Eden Hazard’s poor performance on his return to Stamford Bridge.

Hazard’s performance was disappointing during his 89 minutes on the pitch, failing to inject any ingenuity into Real Madrid’s play or trouble the Chelsea defense with his dribbling ability.

Hazard’s move to Real Madrid has been a disaster so far as he has been mostly side-lined in his 3 years at Madrid, and footage of the Belgian’s reaction to losing the Champions League semi-final has only angered the club’s passionate fans further.

After the full-time whistle had been blown, Hazard re-entered the pitch and decided to have a laugh with the Chelsea pair Edouard Mendy and Kurt Zouma in front of the television cameras, which was definitely not well received by the Real Madrid supporters.

Angry reaction by Real Madrid fans over Hazard’s laugh

Many have come forward criticizing the Belgian’s insensitive behavior of laughing after Real Madrid was knocked out of the Champions League semi-final.

The supporter of Los Blancos and many players of the team have been angry at Hazard’s behavior. The fans took it to social media to criticize the player and demanded his apology on the matter.

Thibaut Courtois’ father and Courtois himself also stated that “Eden has enough experience to not have that attitude when the cameras are on him.” and also called him unproffessional.

Hazard took it to social media for apologizing to the Real Madrid fans as he wrote “I am sorry. I have read a lot of opinions about me today and it wasn’t my intention to offend Real Madrid fans, It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid and I came here to win. The season is not over and together we must now battle for La Liga.” Hazard wrote on Instagram.

After his repetitive bad performances and irresponsible behavior, it is believed that Real Madrid would sell Hazard in this summer transfer window to support the signing of a new player, as he has been of no use to the team since three years of his joining.
