Hofmann garnering interest from Bayern Munich

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann is on the radar of Bayern Munich. This is according to the reports coming from Sport Bild.

Hofmann has been with Gladbach since 2016 and has been crucial for them. Bayern are in the market for a midfield reinforcement and consider the 29-year-old as a good option.

Borussia Monchengladbach values Hofmann at around €22 million. The Bundesliga champions are looking to sign a midfielder and are linked with Marcel Sabitzer. It is still not sure which midfielder Bayern Munich will bring in this season.

VERSATILE HOFMANN OFFERS OPTION FOR BAYERN

Hofmann is an extremely versatile player. He can play across the midfield and in the attack and could even be deployed in the wing-back roles. This offers a lot of options for Bayern, who are looking to strengthen their side.

The 29-year-old has appeared 156 times for Borussia Monchengladbach and have scored 22 times for them. Hofmann is a good crosser of the ball and likes to take set pieces. Able to do the defensive part, he is a good tackler.

“If a club as big as FC Bayern shows interest in me, then I would of course be happy because that would be a confirmation for my performances. But generally, I don’t want to comment on such rumours,”- said Hofmann.

Bayern have renewed the contract of their midfielder Joshua Kimmich earlier this week and is now focussing to add depth to the squad. Hofmann, with his versatility, offers many options for the Bundesliga Champions. With the future of Kingsley Coman uncertain, it will be a wise move to bring in the German, who could feature in the wing for Bayern. There is also the possibility of using Hofmann in the wing-back roles if boss Juliann Nageslmann decides to shift to a three at the back system.

While it is still early to speculate, there is now a high chance that Bayern will be bringing in new players. Whether it will be Sabitzer or Hofmann is the next big question.
