The international breaks have always been a topic of concern for Arsenal. Their captain Martin Odegaard got injured last time whereas this time it is their best player Bukayo Saka. Arsenal are set to make an away trip to face Bournemouth next week and several faces could be seen missing for them.
Saka got injured while playing for England against Greece at the Wembley stadium. He left the pitch in the 50th minute and has now left the England squad for tomorrow’s game against Finland. Saka will be assessed by Arsenal and we may receive news about him very soon. As of now, his availability for the next Premier League fixture is still uncertain.
Arsenal vs Bournemouth: Possible Gunners lineup
David Raya is expected to start in between the sticks as usual. Along with him William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are also very likely to start in the backline. Both defenders still have to play for their respective nations and Arteta will hope both of them stay safe.
As for left back position, Riccardo Calafiori is expected to start once again after making a very good start to his Arsenal career. Jurrien Timber is expected to make his way back in the starting lineup. He will be used by Arteta as his dynamic right back.
Thomas Partey stayed at North London and the reason given by Ghana national team was due to illness. This rules out any questions about his injury and he is expected to start once again unless Arteta decides to hand Mikel Merino his first Arsenal start.
Declan Rice is very likely to retain his place as central midfielder. Martin Odegaard is still not fit to play and will miss this match for sure. Leandro Trossard is set to start the game in his place and continue his top form.
Gabriel Martinelli is back in his top form and there is no reason behind Arteta dropping him. He will start the game on the left flank in front of Calafiori.
Bukayo Saka may still make the starting lineup against Bournemouth but if he misses out, Arteta will like to use Raheem Sterling in his place. He may also use Kai Havertz at that position and make Jesus his number nine.
Havertz also missed the recent games for German national team due to injury. But as per the Daily Mail, the injury is not serious and hence we may see Havertz once again in the number nine position.
