How Chelsea could lineup against Tottenham Hotspur for Premier League clash

Chelsea looks to challenge for the Premier League title as they host their local rivals, Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. There will be few changes in the lineup for both in-form clubs, or we can expect the same in-form squad.

Spurs won their 4th consecutive match with a big win against Manchester City last time. They would be keen on maintaining their winning form for the coming fixture as well

The previous meeting had Spurs beating the Blues in the EFL Cup on penalties, but the Blues would be looking for sweet revenge against Jose Mourinho’s team.

This will be the biggest fixture on the English Premier League Gameweek 10, with two of the top three teams clashing for the top spot.

Chelsea lineup against Tottenham Hotspur:

Let us have a look at how Chelsea would lineup against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.

Edouard Mendy had a reunion with his former club who has been impressive in the recent few years as Chelsea defeated Rennes by 2-1 away in the Champions League.

Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic return to the lineup after their injuries whereas Lilywhites have the absence of Toby Alderweireld, a key defender due to groin injury.

The possible starting 11 for Chelsea would be as follows:

Goalkeeper: Edouard Mendy,

Defenders: Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, and Cesar Azpilicueta

Midfielders: Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante, and Jorginho

Forwards: Olivier Giroud, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech

After there were rumors of Olivier Giroud leaving Chelsea in January, he scored the last-gasp winner against Rennes.

He would be given more playing time as per the recent comments made by Frank Lampard after the last match,

“Yes, it does (show why I want him to stay.) Oli will get his minutes because we have a busy scheduled. He offers a lot for us.”

– Frank Lampard

Chelsea have the advantage of getting more rest and more time ready for the clash whereas Tottenham Hotspur had a match Thursday night.
