Pedro Neto have been one of the most impactful new signings for Chelsea this season. Madueke came up with some praises recently.
Chelsea signed Neto this simmer from Wolves as their 10th signing of the season. He has arrived to a great company of forwards in the Chelsea team. Despite having fast pace wingers like Mykhailo Mudryk and Christopher Nkunku, Madueke was surprised by the speed of Pedro Neto. In a recent interview Madueke refered the Portuguese as ‘lightning’ and ‘unbeilevable’. Eventhough Neto plays on both the wings his string position is in the right wing same as Madueke. It is clear that there is a healthy competition between the duo.
PEDRO NETO STYLE OF PLAY
Pedro Neto is highly versatile winger who can play on both left and right wings. But his prefered postion is right since his strong foot is the left. He is well known for his lightining pace which helps him get past defenders before unleashing a shot or crossing the ball into the six yard area. If we just examine the majority of goals and assists that Neto has had for Wolves are from the wings. A sudden drop of shoulder and injrction of pace takes him way ahead of the defending team. Neto’s dribbling skills and poace helps him change directions quickly and navigate through tight spaces.
It must be his fast pace and trasition that attracted Maresca towards him. The Italian manager wants his wingers to be quick and good crossers. He has replaced Sterling only because he is a Maresca type winger. Despite being winger he also scores a few goals. As said earlier his left foot will be a leathel wepon for Chelsea.
WHAT MADUEKE SAID?
Noni Madueke has been one of the stand out performers for Chelsea so far this season. Scored a hat-trick against Wolves in the Premier League, got goals and assists against Servette. Madueke has recently came to light by saying that he was amazed by his new teammate Pedro Neto.
When discussing about new teammate Pedro Neto, Madueke told Sky Sports Premier League: “Pedro is like lightning in transition. If there’s open space, he’s unbelievable. He’s got a nice final ball as well. He’s a good player.”
Madueke is actually speaking about the quality that Neto possess. During counter attacks or the transition of play the Portuguese has this lightning pace. Not only the runs he makes but the final deliveries are also excellent. Neto set up the goal for Joao Felix against Wolves which was the result of a burst of pace and well placed ball into the middle of the box.
MADUEKE VS NETO
Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto are both natural wingers. Eventhough Neto plays on wither wings his favorite side is the right. Cutting back and scoring with his powerfull left foot. Madueke on the other hand is a natural right winger who can score goals. The duo can fit into the same starting line up, we saw that under Maresca. But we believe that both players can be influencial on the right flank. Neto can be more involved in scoring goals, if he is deployed in the right wing. It is good that Maresca can switch players from either flanks during the game and provide challenging tasks to the opponent defence.
Just look at the attacking power at Chelsea’s disposal, Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk, Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto. On the paper there is so much quality in that attack. It is good that Maresca has such welth of quality inside his dressing room. The major task is to find a suitable combination among his forwards.
