Aizwal FC defender Joshep Adjei set to serve the Ghana National Team

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Aizwal FC’s former star defender Joshep Adeji is selected for the Ghana National Team ahead of their International friendlies against Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire. It is the first time he is called up for the senior national team. Joshep played 4 matches for Ghana’s U-20 team in 2015.

The 25-year-old defender joined I-League outfit Aizwal FC on the 2019-20 campaign, where he appeared in 9 fixtures. Due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the league was put to an end. However, he could not go back to Ghana due to the pandemic travel ban across the globe.

The Mizoram-based club Aizwal FC had signed Joshep on a one-year deal that mutually terminated in the year 2021. Joshep joined Legon Cities FC that plays in the Ghana Premier League after leaving India. He featured in 18 league fixtures for The Royals.

During his stint in the Legon Cities FC, he netted thrice. His excellent performance in the defense and adaptable nature to attack as well, while playing for the Ghana-based club, handed him a place in the national team.

Certainly, if Joshep is handed the first debut, he will play along with Premier League players like Daniel Amartey and Thomas Partey.
