Memphis Depay is at the end of his contract in June, Juninho has very recently expressed himself on his departure. Jean-Michel Aulas also expressed himself on the departure of Depay. Moreover, he did not hesitate to praise him and pay tribute to him. Memphis Depay was the best striker of Lyon. He was able to show all his qualities during his participation in 40 games this season. He was the author of 22 goals in all competitions.

His departure could be a big loss for Olympique Lyonnais. For his part, Juninho is not at all of this opinion. He was very critical of the channel of the club Wednesday. The sporting director of Olympique Lyonnais launched a scathing attack on Memphis Depay. He heavily criticized the ego of the player.

The Dutch striker has reached an agreement to sign for Barcelona if Ronald Koeman remains the coach for next season. And Juninho seems to resent him. During his speech, Juninho, therefore, announced the departure of Depay and the arrival of Damien Da Silva.

“He did not make enough effort without the ball and the others did less too. (…) Memphis did his time, the president made a lot of effort to extend him, the president was ready to do more than necessary when he was injured. There was a strong close relationship. I think Memphis has had his day.”- Juninho

After the departure of Depay, Juninho has a desire for renewal:

First of all, the arrival of Damien Da Silva will bring something new to the club. He will have an expanded role in the team of Olympique Lyonnais. He has signed for two years.

“Damien and Marcelo will help us train the youngsters,” explained Juninho. Damien is not a selfish player, and we have a selfish workforce, we know that it is like that. We want players who bring us this culture of winning that we lost a long time ago and not selfishness.” – Juninho

In addition, a news denial has arrived about Juninho. He has very recently passed an entrance interview at Tola Vologe. He wants to integrate the 2021/2022 promotion of the BEF (Brevet d’Entraineur de Football). By validating this diploma, it will be possible to him to reach the DES (Diploma of Superior Coach). Yes, he will be able to obtain the BEPF (Brevet d’Entraîneur Professionnel de Football), to coach a League 1 team.

It is impossible not to think about Lyon and the possibility that he will one day coach his heart club and the club of his life. In 2013, he already declared his ambitions to Le Parisien. Despite a desire that seems unstoppable, it will have to climb several levels but also prove itself on the field. A new career is emerging for the former Lyon number 8.
