Ian Graham talks about Salah contract extension

According to Liverpool.Com, this is what Ian Graham said when he extended the contract of Salah on 2022.

Liverpool are really great at the moment. They are looking to win many trophies this season. Liverpool are not really going to win the FA Cup because they unfortunately went out after the loss against Plymouth Argyle. They are looking to signing some new players as well during the summer transfer window. There have been several problems as well. The problems include injuries and not yet extended contracts in the team. There are several players still left who did not extend their contracts for Liverpool. Questions arises as the summer transfer window is approaching faster. Several crucial players did not sign extend their contracts yet.

Ian Graham surprised by Salah:

Mohammed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk are one of the players who did not extend their contracts with Liverpool yet. Former Liverpool’s director of research Ian Graham says he was surprised about Salah signing another contract with Liverpool during 2022. This season, Mohammed Salah has scored 25 goals and also made 16 assists in just 27 matches for Liverpool in the Premier League. Across all competitions, he scored 30 goals and also made 22 assists for Liverpool as well.

He said that at that time he did not recommend players of his age to sign a contract. He also said that it was the strength of the data that forces him to take an objective viewpoint instead. This surprised him. He said he was surprised by looking at the caliber of his matches as well. Salah performed really well irrespective of his age. He also said that there would have been a drop in game time rather than in quality.

I think he is right. It is very surprising how Salah performs really well for Liverpool. Even at this age, he performs really well for the club.
