After a narrow defeat against Uzbekistan, the Indian Women’s National Team are all set to face Belarus at AGMK Stadium in Almalyk Tashkent on 8th April.
The match kicks off at 16:30 IST and its live streaming will be available on the official YouTube channel of the Uzbekistan Football Association.
“The youngsters that are coming in for the team, they will definitely be good, and if they give their 100 per cent, we will definitely be in a better position for the Women’s Asian Championship 2022,” said Maymol Rocky, head coach of the Senior Indian National Team.
India Women’s vs Belarus Women’s: The Match Preview
The Blue Tigresses will be looking forward to bounce back from the defeat against Uzbekistan. India was successful in keeping Uzbekistan at bay for majority of the game but the 87th minute free-kick from Maftuna Shoyimoya sealed the victory for Uzbekistan.
India has the capability of creating scoring opportunities. All they need to do is convert only a few of them into goals, which lacked in the match against Uzbekistan. Belarus ranks 56, while Indian ranks 53 at the moment. However, India’s head coach Maymol Rocky has ruled out any assumptions of considering Belarus weaker.
“Belarus maybe a couple of spots below us on the FIFA Rankings, but they are used to playing against strong European sides, and their level of competition is high. But our girls are getting fully prepared for the game, and I’m sure they will go all out,” said Maymol to AIFF on the eve of Thursday’s friendly match.
India have lost all their three of their previous friendlies against Russia, Serbia and Ukraine in Turkey prior to the defeat against Uzbekistan on the 5th of April. A win against Belarus will give India the much needed boost to step up their trainings for the women’s 2022 AFC Asian Cup.
