Indian Arrows went down fighting 2-5 against Churchill Brothers in I-League at the Kalyani Municipal Stadium.

C Bernardez’s hattrick and L Majcen’s brace led Churchill Brothers to the victory in their first match of Hero I-League in a hard-fought win over the Arrows.

Churchill Brothers started to batter the Indian Arrows defense, and they formulated their game-plan from the opening of the second half. Thanks to Luka and Bernardez’s physical prowess.

Churchill Brothers head coach Fernando Valera started the match with the classic formation of 4-3-3 with Pinto, Majcen, and Miranda as the forwards.

Indian Arrows on the other hand used 4-4-2 as their formation with Thlacheu and Patre as their attacking duo.

The young Arrows tried to minimize the deficit and searched for the equalizer, but to no avail the full-time score read 5-2 in Churchill’s favor.

Churchill Brothers got right into the thick of the action and took the lead in the second minute itself. the Goans were dominating in the first quarter of the game.

But Indian arrows also Showed their extraordinary grit, they got back into the game, playing free-flowing attacking football. Their attacking prowess bore fruit in the ninth minute. Indian Arrows scoring two goals in the space of 15 minutes took the lead for the first time in the game.

Luka Majcen: the Centre forward two goals showing his outstanding attacking prowess which the Arrows completely failed to handle.

Clayvin Zuniga: The Honduran No ten scored a hattrick and took the match ball home and did more than what the head coach would have asked for.

Both Indian Arrows and Churchill Brothers play their next match on Thursday, as they face off against Sudeva Delhi FC and Mohammedan SC at the Kalyani Municipal Stadium.
