Indian Women’s Football team hammers Bahrain 5-0 in an International friendly tie on Sunday at the capital of Bahrain, Manama. The team led by Loitongbam Ashalata Devi handed Bahrain a heavy defeat as they look forward to beginning their AFC Women’s Asia Cup Qualification against Laos.

The Indian team was coming off from a defeat against Tunisia as it ended 1-0. The Indian team was winless in their last 5 matches and needed a shift in the momentum and it was just the right moment for the team to Capitalize.

The Indian side clinically ran off Bahrain and made them suffer. This victory has come at the very right time, it is a huge mental boost for the team as they looked promising as ever.

Pyaari Xaxa scored a Brace as India cruise through Bahrain in a Comfortable victory

The Indian team played a relatively weaker side in terms of the FIFA Rankings, as India stands on 57th while Bahrain are way below India at 85th in the FIFA chart. Midfielder and Captain Indumathi Kathiseran tripled India’s lead in the 34th minute. Just a minute after scoring the fourth goal Midfielder Manisha Kalyan scored the final goal of the match in the 69th minute to complete a comprehensive victory.

However, Indian forward Pyaari Xaxa was sent off by the referee in the 73rd minute but that didn’t seem to put any adverse effect on the Blue Tigress as they were already 5-0 up by then. India defeated UAE 4-1 and lost to Tunisia by a narrow 1-0 result during the International Friendlies earlier this month.

The Indian team will Chinese Taipei are better ranked than India in the FIFA standings. Chinese Taipei sits 17 places above India on 40, as India faces yet another challenging team in their match.

These Friendlies were a part of the preparation for the forthcoming AFC Women’s Asia Cup scheduled to take place in India on January-February 2022. Before the win against 100th ranked UAE, the Blue Tigress were winless in their 5 previous fixtures this year that were against some tough European sides. This tour of Four International friendly matches was the first for interim Head coach Thomas Dennerby.
