Ineos and fans gear up for Man United pre-season

After one of their worst runs in the history of the Premier League, Man United gets ready for a new era.

Hopes are up once again for the Manchester United fans as Ineos gear up for the pre-season. The new management is in place and order, the manager has got a contract extension and the work for acquiring new players is also underway at a fast pace. Most importantly the fans are filled with hope and excitement this time.

United starts their pre-season training today i.e. 8 July as the Red Devils gear up for their first friendly match in Norway against Rosenborg on 15th July.

As per reports, two new recruits of Ineos have already started their work at Old Trafford. The two recruits however have not been announced officially yet.

New things get to work at United

As per reports from Manchester Evening News, both Ruud Van Nistelrooij and Rene Hake are present at Carrington. Both were spotted and reported on X on July 8 only.

Although no official statement came from Man United it is assumed that the two will be the partners for Ten Hag. The trio will together prepare the new look setup as the players arrive for training. Specifically, the fans would be glad to see the return of Nistelrooij. The Dutch departed Old Trafford after scoring 150 goals in 219 games.

Hakes also joins United as a reputed coach now. The Dutchman propelled a rather unpretentious club Go Ahead Eagles to European qualification last term in their league.

Furthermore, these all are soon expected to be joined by Jelle Ten Rouwelaar. Coming from Burnley, this goalkeeping coach has a reputation for training goalkeepers in the modern mix of play style.

Current Assistant Manager of Ten Hag, Mitchell van der Gaag might lose his position as he plans to get a new role in United. Most probably a managerial role would suit him. Further, Steve McLaren’s role in the side might also face changes.

A moving pre-season in the making

Regardless of the staffing changes, there is more to the pre-season. The players will make a return for the training as they eye for redemption of the disastrous run last term.

Adding to that, players like Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood are under great media scrutiny particularly.

Moreover, this season is going to be important for Ten Hag too for his future at United. The current contract extension only takes the Dutch manager to 2026 and any shortcoming this season could very well mean his contract ending early.

Accompanied by new staff, executive structure plus some important changes, United will be hoping to get back on track. The Red Devils need to have a comeback after such a disappointing run last season.
