Inter Milan have won the Scudetto after 11 long years

Inter Milan have won the Serie A title on Sunday evening after a decade. The Nerazzurri last time won the Scudetto under legendary Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho in 2009-2010.

It was quite certain that Inter would win their 19th Serie A title this term. But, the question was when they will be announced as the official champion. After Atalanta failed to win against Sassuolo on Sunday evening, Antonio Conte’s side became the Champions of Italy.

It was a huge achievement for the Inter players and their manager Antonio Conte after the disappointment of the UEFA Champions League. With this victory, the Nerazzurri now break the streak of nine successive Serie A title wins of Juventus.

Inter have managed a great run in the title race, they haven’t lost a game in the league since January, and have lost only 2 games in Serie A this season.

How big an achievement is this for Inter Milan to win the Serie A title?

Inter appointed Conte with the main objective of winning the Serie A title. The Italian manager has an excellent reputation to win league titles wherever he goes. However, Inter Milan and Conte haven’t had a great relationship as they fought publicly last summer.

However, the Italian club have managed to fulfil the huge demands of the experienced manager. As we all know that Conte likes high profile experienced players in his squad. They bought Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen, and Achraf Hakimi with huge money.

Now, Antonio Conte also delivered his promise to win the Serie A title and demolish the dominance of Juventus. The awful departure from the European competition has helped the Nerazzurri to manage a great run in the end, as the players and the manager had only Serie A to focus on.

It was a great achievement for some young players as well as the others. Their next objective should be to improve their performances in the European competitions to build on this title win.
