Inter Milan interested in Liverpool forward Divock Origi

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Inter Milan entered the race for the signature of Liverpool’s Belgian forward Divock Origi for next season.

The 25-year-old forward has gone down the pecking order after The Reds signed Diogo Jota. Although Jota was injured for more than a couple of months. Origi only managed 2 starts and couldn’t score or assist in the Premier League for the Reds this season.

Liverpool bought the Belgium International from Ligue 1 side Lille for €12.6 million in 2014. Then he was sent on loan to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in 2017. Origi recently extended his contract with Jurgen Klopp’s side until 2024.

Divock Origi became a fan favorite at Anfield at the back end of the 2019 season when he scored two goals against Barcelona in the Champions League. He scored again against Tottenham Hotspur in the final to help Liverpool win the Champions League.

Inter want Origi as a backup forward:

Antonio Conte wants another center-forward in his squad as he already has Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez, and Alexis Sanchez.

Origi is willing to leave Liverpool in search of first-team football as he is approaching his peak. But, it is believed that Nerazzurri want Origi as the backup of the first choice pairing Lukaku and Martinez.

The striker could be an excellent addition to the Inter’s side as he can play out wide as well. Conte can use him in 3-4-3 formation as a winger and also as a double striker in 3-5-2 formation.

Liverpool might sell the forward if their valuation is met. It will cost Inter around €15-20 million

Inter will have to battle with Wolverhampton to land the Belgian forward as Wolves are struggling with their number nine spot since the head injury to Raul Jimenez. Origi will be a good inclusion to the Inter Milan squad.
