Inter Milan is keen to offload Alexis Sanchez to make way for Paulo Dybala

Alexis Sanchez is one of the highest-paid players at Inter Milan and was expected to be one of the stars of the club. However, the Chilean has not delivered for the Nerazzurri consistently. Inter has expressed an interest in signing Paulo Dybala on a free transfer this summer. However, the situation surrounding Alexis Sanchez’s departure has delayed the transfer plans.

The forward moved to the San Siro on an initial loan deal from Manchester United in 2019. The club signed Alexis Sanchez permanently in 2020, after an impressive loan spell. However, Simone Inzaghi, the Inter boss does not have Alexis Sanchez in his plans for the upcoming season.

Inter have been clear with both Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal about their plans for the upcoming season. Both the Chileans are expected to leave the club this summer. Arturo Vidal is reportedly close to a transfer to Flamengo in Brazil.

Alexis Sanchez is also on Flamengo’s shopping list

Flamengo is close to agreeing on a move for Arturo Vidal from Inter. The Rio de Janeiro club has also expressed interest in signing Alexis Sanchez from the Nerazzurri.

However, the proposal from Flamengo has not convinced Sanchez. The Chilean is looking to stay in Europe and is waiting for a suitable proposal from elsewhere. Nonetheless, it seems unlikely that a top European club will be willing to sign the forward at this stage of his career.

Sanchez is well past his prime and has not been a regular for his club. The Chilean scored 9 goals and assisted a further 4 in 39 appearances across all competitions last season. Fitness is also a cause of concern for clubs that are interested in Sanchez considering his recent struggles with injury in Italy.

With the start of Serie A just a month away, it will be interesting to see if Inter will be able to find a suitor for Alexis Sanchez in the coming weeks. More importantly, Inter would need to sign Paulo Dybala before the start of the season to ensure that the Nerazzurri can mount a strong title challenge this season.
