Lautaro Martinez

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta backed Simone Inzaghi before the Nerazzurri defeated Benfica 2-0 away. Regardless of the outcome, the CEO stated that the club was not considering a coaching change. He spoke with Sky as well as SportMediaset.

Marotta feels confident about Inzaghi’s potential

Since Marotta allegedly gave the manager an ultimatum, they have drawn twice in unlucky fashion at home . However They are ahead to qualify for the Champions League semi-finals. Despite their results, the Nerazzurri have only appeared helpless once or twice and have remained in the game for the most part.

When asked if he is concerned about the team’s recent results. The CEO stated, “The inconsistency has only been a problem in the league, although it’s only logical that a great team has to be consistent in all competitions.”
“We’re dealing with these issues while doing well in cup competitions” he continued.

“Inzaghi is a great coach, and we’re confident that he can get us back on track in Serie A as well.”

Marotta backs Inter Coach

After the Nerazzurri’s Serie A loss to Fiorentina after the international break, it was rumoured that Inzaghi could be provided only three matches to save his job, culminating with evening’s meeting at the Estadio da Luz. The Nerazzurri executive told Italian network SportMediaset, through FCInterNews, that a single match cannot be decisive for major future choices.

“We are still among the protagonists of this season, even though less so in Serie A, where we have been inconsistent. Maybe we would have deserved and wished for different positions, but we couldn’t earn them, and that’s not to the detriment of the boss. A top club must have continuity in all competitions. We have to remedy that all together, players and management included. We don’t have much time to do it. But we must try to qualify for the Champions League until the end.”

“The present and the future can’t be affected by one game. Inter face the pressure of being a big team, so we must always measure up. We are below expectations just in Serie A. It’s the only blemish of our campaign. It’s part of the game, and it’s the first time we had a mid-season World Cup, after which some of our players, and other sides’ too, didn’t perform up to their standards. I’m optimistic because the squad never lacked professionalism.”

“I have to be optimistic because our professionalism has never faltered. we’re up against a top side but we also have to show that we can keep up with them all the way and have an answer for everything they throw at us”
