Ipswich Town to sign 21 year old Chelsea star this January

Chelsea are planning to sell Carney Chukwuemeka. The attacking midfielder is now linked with a move to Ipswich Town. There is high possibility of the deal being carried out in January itself.

The Blues signed Chukwuemeka in 2022 from Aston Villa. They paid £20 million and the player was being viewed as future of Chelsea. But the 21 year old has failed to impress in the past two seasons and the story has not changed this season too.

Chukwuemeka played only 15 matches in his first season and only 12 in his second season. This season he has played in only 3 matches so far and that too for only 49 minutes across all three matches.

The player is not in Enzo Maresca’s plans and hence Chelsea are prepared to sell him. They also want to sign new players with defensive options as primary target. Hence, they will prefer to sell the unwanted players which will help them in generating money along with easing their situation in PSR regulations.

How much will Chelsea demand for Carney Chukwuemeka?

As per TEAMtalk, the Blues are demanding around £40 million for the midfielder. That is two times the price they paid while signing him. But the reports also say that the deal can be carried out for a price less than £40 million.

Ipswich Town are keen to sign Carney Chukwuemeka along with Italian giants AC Milan. But as of now, Ipswich have lead in signing the 21 year pld as they have already taken the first steps to approach Chelsea for a deal.

Ipswich are fighting to keep their place in Premier League. They are currently on the 17th place in points table. They are avoiding the relegation zone at the moment by only one point. Hence we may see them making some bold moves in January which will make them keep their place in English top flight league.
