EURO 2024 winner Marc Cucurella has spoken about Enzo Maresca taking charge of Chelsea. They were far from their best in the pre-season. In fact, they were just able to win one of their games. Their start to the new Premier League season was not that great either. They began the league campaign with a 0-2 loss to Man City at home. While they did manage to win big away to Wolves, they ended up dropping points at home to Crystal Palace. As of now, the London side sits on 11th place in the league table.

26-year-old left-back was quick to back his coach to succeed at the club. In fact, as per mirror.co.uk, the full-back has even urged to owner Todd Boehly to be ‘patient’ with the Italian coach. The problem is that quick results are being expected. Meanwhile, a big change as such is bound to take some time. Even Arsenal were patient with Mikel Arteta and look at them now. So, the full-back is not at all out of order with his demands. Meanwhile, Maresca also thinks of Cucurella highly, as he is his go-to left-back for Chelsea.
What’s next for Maresca’s side?
The Blues will be in action in the UECL League phase soon. They barely managed to qualify after beating Servette 3-2 on aggregate. The Italian coach has shown a lot of faith in his players. He has made some bold choices including snubbing the likes of Cole Palmer for the league phase. Meanwhile, we will be seeing Cucurella and Maresca in action after the international break as Chelsea play away to Bournemouth in game week 4 of the Premier League. Soon after, they have another tough away game to face against West Ham.
