Bengaluru FC centre-back Albert Serran joins Iceland club

Indian Super League side Bengaluru FC have announced the departure of their versatile defender Albert Serran. 36-year-old Albert Serran is their second departure after Bengaluru terminated the contract of Raphael Augusto by mutual consent.

Serran joined Bengaluru FC in 2018 from a Moroccan club Chabab Rif Al Hociema, Initially for one season. But Serran got a contract extension because Bengaluru managed to become the champions in 2018. Defeating FC Goa in the extra time at Mumbai Football Arena. Serran has a total of 34 appearances for Bengaluru FC in the past 2 seasons.

Bengaluru FC made their official announcement this Tuesday ” All of us at the BFC family would like to thank Alber Serran for his time at the club, we wish him good luck for everything that lies ahead. It has been a pleasure having you wear the BFC blue, champion”.

The Espanyol youth product have given one goal and one assist during his two years run at the club. He also gave the stability that Carles Cuadrat needed, which resulted in conceding the least number of goals (13) in the last edition of the ISL.

Bengaluru FC looking at the better picture

The blues might have sold players like Albert and Raphael, but they have strengthened their squad d by adding players like – A Kumar (left-back), P Chaudhari (right-back) L Ralte (goalkeeper), J Zoherliana (right-back), Lara Sharma (goalkeeper), W Muirang (midfielder) as well as Brazilian forward C Silva.

According to the sources, the seventh edition of the Indian Super will be played behind closed doors. Goa will host the matches because of the ongoing pandemic.
