Bengaluru FC in talks with East Bengal SC for the signing of Sarthak Golui

East Bengal SC‘s Sarthak Golui is going to join Bengaluru FC on a free transfer in the upcoming transfer window. Rumors are that along with Golui, Bengaluru have also targeted ATK Mohun Bagan‘s midfielder Jayesh Rane. Bengaluru FC are on a mission to set their team before the new season kicks off.

Golui was born in Kolkata, India, and had a passion for football since he were a kid. Sarthak made his name when he was part of AIFF Elite Academy. Then Sarthak joined the I-League side, Mohun Bagan, in 2016. He made his debut against Aizawl FC in the league, where he played for a minute only as Mohun Bagan won the match by 3-1. Golui have also represented India at both the under 16 and under 19 level.

The 23-year-old Bengali defender have been a part of Mumbai City’s squad since the beginning of the season 2020-21. where he have appeared in 4 matches out of which he has started 2. During the last transfer window, Golui mutually terminated his contract with Mumbai to join East Bengal for the rest of the season. For the rest of the season, he played for East Bengal and became a regular starter.

What is making Sarthak leave the Mariners

Sarthak wants to leave East Bengal because of the ongoing tension between the club and the investors. Shree Cement Limited even after signing the final contract. Shree Cement and the team management are having problems regarding the negotiations. So, until the problem gets settled there won’t be any kind of negotiations in contract between the players and the club.

With doubt over the future of the club, Sarthak does not want to take any chances and is likely to join the Blues. Reports say that along with the signing of Sarthak, the Blues are also trying to sign Jayesh Rane from Mohun Bagan. Jayesh have played 16 matches with Mohun Bagan. These two signings can be good additions to the Blues and might strengthen the squad.

The blues have had a rough season failing to qualify for the playoffs they finished seventh on the table. Bengaluru only had 22 points in 20 matches. So it is safe to say that they are in desperate need of some changes.
