Indian Super League club Bengaluru FC have mutually agreed to part ways with Spanish Defender Juan Gonzalez on Monday. The Bengaluru-based club praised the player for his services to the club over the five-season and wished him luck for his future.
The 34 years old center-back joined the Blues back in August 2016 by signing a one-year deal. He further renewed his contract in March 2018 with a two-year extension deal.
Juan played 71 fixtures for the Bengaluru FC in the ISL and has an excellent passing accuracy of over 80 percent. He clocked 6173 minutes across the four ISL seasons playing for the club. At times he also came forward smashing 5 goals while providing 1 assist.
Earlier this month the club has extended the contract of the skipper Sunil Chhetri for two more years. The new contract will see Chhetri play for the club for the 10th season.
Moreover, the club has appointed a German manager with a UEFA Pro Licence Marco Pezzaiuoli in March 2021. Under his guidance, the club played a single official match at 2021 AFC Cup preliminary round 1 against Nepal Army Club that settled with a victory by a 0-5 margin.
