Chennaiyin FC appointed Bozidar Bandovic as their manager for the upcoming ISL season on a one-year contract. The Montenegrin will lead the club as a replacement to Czaba Laszlo, who was in charge the previous season.

Although Laszlo had Chennaiyin play an attractive style of football last season yet they ended eighth on the table. Only 17 goals were scored in 20 games, resulting in 20 points. It was the lowest in the division by a significant margin.
“We are absolutely delighted to have someone like Bandovic take up the mantle of head coach. What he has achieved in Thailand is a testament to his capabilities and we expect him to show similar efficiency in India,” -Vita Dani
Bozidar’s previous campaigns
Bandovic’s previous job was with Buriram United, where he won two Thai League titles in a row and was named Thai League Manager of the Year in 2017. His club set and then broke the record set by themselves for the highest points secured in Thai First-Division history
After 131 matches in command of Buriram United, he had 86 victories, 22 ties, and 23 defeats.
In the Premier League, he has played for Red Star Belgrade, Olympiacos FC, and POAK. For a brief time, Bandovic was the head coach of Olympiacos FC. He worked for the Greek giants in numerous capacities. Primarily as the Head of Analysis under former Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde.

Bandovic would first evaluate and complete the team. He would be very beneficial for the club.
