Naorem seals transfer to FC Goa

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

FC Goa signed a deal with the midfielder Nongdamba Naorem. He played the previous season with the Kerela Blasters.

The former Minerva Punjab attacker was on loan with Mohun Bagan in the I-League. He was in the playing squad of the two-time winners and scored twice and assisted five times in a curtailed campaign. After his return to Kerela Blaster, he only had 3 appearances in the season with less than 200 minutes.

His ill-timed injury ruined his possibility of securing a permanent spot at ATK Mohun Bagan. Goa intends on giving the top local talent a chance to embrace the future of the club.

Naorem previous achievements

The Manipuri prodigy was a part of the Minerva Punjab youth team at his prime. He later played for India in the FIFA World Cup U-17. He was also selected for Indian Arrows a club owned by AIFF for the players under 20. His debut match was against Chennai City.

Kerela Blasters signed a 3-year contract with the young player. After making 6 appearances for the club he was loaned out to ATKMB.

He suffered from an ACL injury which ended with a controversy against Kerela Blasters as ATKMB ruled out that the player was already injured before his transfer. The dispute was settled by the committee ruling it was valid pertaining to all the terms and conditions.
