Manchester United will be in restructuring period this season. The club recored the lowest finish in 34 years in the 2023/24 season. United finished on 8th position in Premier League which made the club to take some harsh decisions. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is determined to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford and is working hard for it. The summer transfer market is open and Red Devils are very active in it. Sir Jim Ratcliffe tool over as the new co-owner in february. Ever since his arrival he has been determined to make changes in the club to find the best results. Ratcliffe started his business by making crucial changes in United board. To begin with, Dan Ashworth has been brought in from Newcastle United and has been given the role of sporting director. Ashworth has quickly started his job and is currently focused on bringing in Matthijs De Ligt. Along with De Ligt, Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee is set to join United this summer. Omar Berrada will join United this week as the club’s new chief executive. Jason Wilcox has also joined the club as the new technical director.
Erik Ten Hag’s job was not certain until the very end of 2023/24 season. However the win in FA Cup final against Manchester City has earned Ten Hag a contract extension. Ten Hag’s contract extension was announced on official Manchester United website. However according to reports, United are not completely happy with Ten Hag and just triggered the one year extension option in his contract. Ten Hag is expecting new changes in his coaching staff. Its been reported that three new Dutch coaches are set to join the 54 year old manager.
Man United set to welcome three Dutch coaches
Erik Ten Hag is set to be accompanied by three of his fellow countrymen. After the last season, United decided to part ways with Benni McCarty and Richard Hartis. Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake were reported to join United earlier. Now, former Dutch keeper Jelle Ten Rouwelaar is rumoured to become new United goalkeeping coach.
Benni McCarty was often seen missing in away games last season. His absence has been heavily criticised as the club was only able to score 57 goals. As a result, United have decided to let McCarty go after his contract expired earlier this month. Richard Hartis who has been club’s goalkeeping coach for the past four years is also set to leave Old Trafford. Hartis was brought in by Ole Gunner Solskjaer in 2019. During Solskjaer’s time as United manager, Hartis used to be present in the dugout. However Ten Hag made Hartis to sit in stands with analysts.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Rene Hake and Jelle Ten Rouwelaar are set to join the Dutch manager at United. However none of them have been officially announced by United as the club is waiting to obtain their work visas. Rene Hake has previously worked as PSV Eindhoven manager and Van Nistelrooy has worked as Go Ahead Eagles manager. Ten Rouwelaar has already worked in Premier League for Burnley under manager Vincent Kompany who recently joined FC Bayern Munich. Two months ago, Ten Rouwelaar agreed to join Ajax but now is set to make his move back to Premier League.
