Dangmei Grace: India’s center forward

Grace Dangmei is an Indian footballer,who plays as a forward for the Indian women’s National football team. She was also a part of 2014 Asian games and also in 2016 south Asian games. Where she scored 2 goals against Sri Lanka.

During 2018 Indian Women’s League awarded her as a“Emerging Player Award”.She holds her position as a forward player and her number was11.

In her senior career 2016-2018 KRYPHSA team she has scored 8 goals and 2019 in Sethu FC she has scored 8 goals. National team: 2014 India u-19 scored (1)goal and 2013 India (13) goals.

Dangmei grace was born on 5th February 1996(aged 26).She was borned to Simon Dangmei and Rita Dangmei and she belongs to Rongme tribe from Dimadailong village, kangavi sub-division churachandpur district ,Manipur.

Her most notable performance in recent times came in a 3-1 victory over Indonesia in the AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifiers Round 2, where she scored a brace .She was currently in Kangchup Road Young Physical & Sports Association-KRYHPSA.

 “Apart from that, I have been working in the gardens of our family. We have huge gardens and it’s time for plantation. So, I go out with my brothers and other family members in the garden and do some work using the spade etc. It’s great joy to be engaged there apart from being a good physical workout.”

International career:

Grace played her debut international match in AFC Qualifiers on 2013.Then she becomes regular members of women’s national team.

Club career:

Dangmei played the inaugural edition of Indian Women’s League with Kryphsa F.C. and also 2nd edition. She joined Sethu FC in 2019 for 3rd edition of IWL. She scored a brace in her first match with Sethu FC against Manipur Police Sports Club on 6 May 2019.

India’s centre-forward Dangmei Grace, who was adjudged as the Best Emerging Player in 2019 by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), said that Bala Devi’s journey to European club Rangers has motivated the new generation of women footballers to dream big.
