Jackichand Singh set to play for SC EastBengal in the upcoming season

Jackichand Singh will join SC East Bengal on a season-long deal from the last years’ champions Mumbai City FC. The player is currently having a running contract that lasts till 2023.

The former Pune City player joined hands with ISL side Jamshedpur FC before signing for Mumbai City FC. He has also played for Kerala Blasters and FC Goa in his professional career. While his stay at the Jamshedpur-based club he appeared in 12 fixtures providing three assists. As Jackichand joined Mumbai City FC, Farukh Choudhary went back to his former club Jamshedpur FC.

After joining the Islanders he played only 6 fixtures clocking 181 minutes as the club had many options to field in the winger position.  

Jackichand has already played for SC EastBengal in the I-League 2017. Although he played 7 matches but could not perform to his full strength. He impressed everyone during his stay at FC Goa. He netted 9 goals and assisted 7 times in two seasons for the Gaurs. His excellent performance helped Gaurs to win the ISL shield and qualify for the AFC Champions League in the 2019-20 season.

The player will add more strength to the club and will also get more game time to his books. A successful season with the EastBengal can help him get more preference after he returns to the Mumbai City FC after plying his trade.

The Red and Gold have already signed in midfielder Amarjit Singh Kiyam on a loan deal from FC Goa. The club is making quick move-in signing players so that they can start their preparation.

Following the ninth-place finish in the last edition, the club will surely try to bounce back to the winning ways.
