Jadon Sancho joined Chelsea on loan from Manchester United this summer. He is very likely to join the Blues permanently nect year. But now, the 24 year old is backed to get second chance to play for United due to the current situation.
Sancho joined United in 2021 as a highly rated youngster from Borussia Dortmund. Everyone had high expectations from the player but it did not went as per plans. Sancho had very hard first 2 seasons with United.
The situation became even worse last season. Sancho had a fallout with Erik Ten Hag forced him to play only 3 matches for United. Later, Sancho joined Dortmund on loan and helped the to reach the UCL finals. But it was not enough to convince Ten Hag.
As a result, Sancho joined Chelsea on loan on the deadline day this summer. The Blues have obligation to buy the 24 year old next year if they finish above 14th position in Premier League. They will need to pay United £25 million to secure the services of Sancho permanently.
Jadon Sancho to get second chance at Manchester United?
While it looks very unlikely, former Portugese defender Jose Fonte believes that Sancho can get second chance at United. He thinks that the new United boss Ruben Amorim can give Sancho an opportunity to redeem himself at Old Trafford.
“Jadon Sancho will get a chance to impress Ruben Amorim in the summer because it’s a fresh start and new opportunity for everyone. Something might click between him and Amorim because he knows exactly what he wants from his players in every area of the pitch” – Fonte speaking to JeffBet via the Express.
Fonte then explained why he thinks that things may work between Amorim and Sancho. He said that Amorim likes to give his number ten freedom which is what Sancho needs.
Despite Fonte being optimistic about Sancho getting another chance at United, it is very very unlikely. Sancho has been very good for Chelsea and has picked three assists in opening three games.
The player himself too may turn down the offer to rejoin United due to the past experiences. As of now, he will focus to make a strong return on the pitch and claim back his starting position.
