Jonathan David linked with big clubs after performance against Spanish giants

Jonathan David has been heavily linked with many clubs since his performance against the Spanish giants Real Madrid.

French club Lille defeated the title holders on match day 2 of the Champions League. This was a shocker for Los Blancos as they lost the game 1-0 to Lille. Madrid conceded a handball just before halftime. A shot from Lille’s striker hit Eduardo Camavinga’s hand which resulted in a penalty,

Jonathan David took up the responsibility of taking up the spot kick. A well-judged shot to the right side of the post sent Andriy Lunin to the wrong side. Real Madrid was trailing the French club the rest of the game.

The hosts put serious pressure on the visitors after halftime. The Stade Pierre-Mauroy was full of their supporters. Los Blancos were more dominant on the ball in the second half but were unable to finish their chances.

AC Milan is trying to sign yet another young talent for the club. The Italian team will take a chance to sign Jonathan David in the January transfer window. AC Milan will look to add more attacking depth to their squad.

The club had signed new young players last summer. Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham made their move to San Siro stadium during the transfer window last summer. Tammy Abraham is currently on loan with Roma till 30 June 2025.

Barcelona eyes David’s deal

The management team of FC Barcelona have shown interest in Lille’s Jonathan David. the striker’s deal with his current club expires in June 2025 but he is unlikely to renew his contract. The January transfer window will see David move to a new club.

Barcelona face stiff competition in the race to sign David. Arsenal, and Manchester United are top contenders to strike a deal with the Lille strike. Other clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also tracking the progress of the 24-year-old.

David is a talented striker but he will not be the main striker in Barcelona if he decides to move to Camp Nou. The current striker of the Spanish club is Robert Lewandowski. He is also the club’s top scorer this season with 11 goals in 12 games.

If Jonathan David decided to join Barcelona he would not be a guaranteed starter for the club. The 24-year-old will make a successful impact as a substitute player. David could be an essential substitute for Lewandowski and others. The January transfer window will decide if Jonathan will move to a new club or not.
