Current Arsenal player Jorginho has made some comments over 2 former Chelsea managers. The midfielder claims that the Blues were great under them. The London side are in a state of transition. We have seen numerous changes on and off-the-pitch in recent years. In fact, even their ownership is now under scrutiny. The Blues appointed club legend Frank Lampard as in-charge in 2019. But, his 2-year stint ended up being very unsuccessful. Later, Thomas Tuchel was made the manager of the London club. He would lead the Blues to their second ever UCL title in his first year with the club. But, he would also be soon replaced by Graham Potter. Even Potter couldn’t last long and was replaced by Mauricio Pochettino last season. Now, the Blues again have a new manager in the form of Enzo Maresca.
Jorginho praises former Chelsea managers
As per football.london, the 32-year-old Italian was quick to defend his former coaches. He joined the Blues in 2018 under Maurizio Sarri. Then, he would partner up with his idol, Frank Lampard. The midfielder stressed that the first year was great under the Englishman. But, sadly things went downhill in the next season. Nonetheless, the Italian heaped praise over Thomas Tuchel. He explained how Tuchel was pushing the players on-the-pitch while maintaining a great bond with them off of it. In fact, Jorginho went on to play some of his best football under these former Chelsea managers.
What does it say as for the London side?
We, at footballexpress, believe that the Blues have been quick to change things around. At the same time, the expectations are to get instant results. The problem is that these changes have taken away a sense of stability from them. Even the Gunners had to be patient with Mikel Arteta. Look at where they are now. Jorginho continues to enjoy his time after Chelsea. Hopefully, the Blues will be a little more patient with Enzo Maresca. Perhaps they could finally have a good-top team in the near future.
