Wolves are reportedly planning to sign Juventus’ Brazilian winger Douglas Costa in the upcoming summer transfer window. Douglas Costa is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Juventus.
Costa has struggled with his injury problems throughout his career. Currently, he is sidelined for injury as well since February. He made only three starts in Bundesliga this season and managed to score and assist one goal each.
The Bianconeri bought the 30-year-old winger permanently from the Bavarian side in 2018 for €40 million before serving a one-year loan in the 2017-2018 season. However, he could not show his quality on the pitch due to fitness issues.
His best season came as a Bianconeri player in Serie A in the 2017-2018 season. Where he scored four goals and provided twelve assists in 31 games.
Can Wolves buy Douglas Costa from Juventus?
According to reports, Gremio were leading the race to sign the Brazilian winger. However, their exit from the Libertadores Cup changed the scenarios. Currently, Wolves are favorites to sign the Juventus’ winger. The Premier League club is also ready to offer €10 million for the signature of Douglas Costa.
Juventus are looking to sell their underperforming players in the summer to boost the transfer budget. Costa is one of the players who is on the transfer list. So, getting €10 million for him will be a good business for both parties.
However, the report is stating that there are also offers coming from China and Saudi Arabia for the signature of the Brazilian talented winger.
Costa has made a total of 432 career appearances in Ukraine, Italy and Germany, for Shakhtar Donetsk, Juventus and Bayern Munich. And he scored a total of 65 goals. Douglas Costa currently has one more year in his current contract. However, the reports are coming out that the player and the club are in discussions to terminate his contract a year early.
It will be interesting to see what will be the future of the Bianconeri winger Douglas Costa. Will Wolverhampton manage to sign him from Juventus or not when the window will open in the summer.
