Juventus are reportedly interested in PSG forward Mauro Icardi. Massimiliano Allegri has stated that he would like to have Icardi in the squad this coming season. The 28-year-old too is keen on joining the Serie A club.
Paris Saint-Germain have been investing heavily on the transfer market. They have secured the likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma from Milan and Inter full-back Achraf Hakimi. With the new arrivals, Icardi seems to be dropping further down the pecking order.
PSG signed the striker from Inter Milan in 2019. The deal was a loan, with obligation to buy for €50,000,000 plus another €22,000,000 in add-ons. A €15,000,000 clause in the contract makes PSG pay Inter if they sell Icardi to another Serie A club. This was, at the time, viewed as a measure to prevent him transferring to Juventus.
The Argentine has scored 13 goals and provided 6 assists in 28 competitive appearances for PSG in the 2020/21 season. He had his best footballing moments when he played for Inter Milan and would love a Serie A return.
Earlier this year, Juventus were linked to Icardi, however it became clear that he was not going to move to Turin.
Nevertheless, the dialogue between Icardi and the Old Lady never quite died down. Now with Allegri taking the reins once more, a move looks all the more likely.
Icardi’s wife and agent, Wanda Nara, also dropped hints on social media by wearing a zebra-striped top, similar to the Juve logo. “I toast for me, for what is coming this year and for you,” she wrote.
