Juventus is on the verge of landing Di Maria and Pogba

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Juventus look very promising in signing Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba. Bianconeri’s confirmation comes from the Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano.

The Old Lady has made some magnificent signings on a free in the past. Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal, Sami Khedira from Real Madrid, Dani Alves from Barcelona, & Adrien Rabiot from Paris are some examples.

But however, the club failed to make a mark outside Serie A. That takes us to the two new signings that may change their fate in Europe. Paul Pogba from Manchester United & Angel Di Maria from PSG signed for Juventus for the 2022-23 season.

The Frenchman’s situation

Paul Pogba’s Bianconeri homecoming was a long time coming. The Frenchman had a disastrous season with Manchester United & now has confirmed his exit. But Angel Di Maria, on the other hand, was a doubt for the Italians at the start but the negotiations turned in their favor in the end.

Renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Old Lady paid United £6.8 million for Pogba. This is the second time they’re signing him from the English giants before selling him for £89 million in 2016.

The Argentine’s situation

Angel Di Maria took time for himself during the Copa America season to decide on his future. The Argentine winger was a free agent before Juventus approached him. The former PSG player netted the ball 56 times and assisted 111 times making him an important asset.

Unlike Paul, this is Angel’s first time in Turin and he’s in his prime already. Juventus paid £22 million for the Copa American champion to PSG to land him in the Allianz Stadium.

Will Juventus succeed with these signings?

Juventus has won Serie A nine times in a row, & is certainly the biggest side in Italy. However, the zebras haven’t been themselves in the past five years. Di Maria and Pogba may be the missing piece in Juve’s puzzle.

Pogba has already made his mark in the Italian League when he signed for Juventus in 2012. There’s absolutely no doubt about his performance in the next year. Di Maria on the other hand is expected to be Paulo Dybala’s replacement and pose some goal-scoring threat alongside Dusan Vlahovic & others.
