Juventus have joined the race to sign one Chelsea star this month. The player is already been looked upon by another Serie A club.
The player in question here is Renato Veiga who joined the Blues this summer. The West London club paid £14 million to sign the Portugese star. Enzo Maresca likes the 21 year old very much.
However, Viega has not been able to earn his spot as regular starter. In addition, he is not being used regularly in Premier League. He has played only 177 minutes across 7 league games.
Juventus join the race to sign Renato Veiga
Earlier it was reported that Napoli are showing interest in Veiga. They are planning to sign the 21 year old on loan this month. However, there are no reports about Chelsea’s view on this deal.
Now Tuttomercatoweb have reported that Juventus are also keen to sign the 21 year old. Despite the Blues considering the player a key player, this will increase the pressure on them for keeping the hold on the player.
Veiga is mainly used as left back by Enzo Maresca. Ben Chilwell is very close to exit and hence this may force Chelsea to keep Veiga with them until the end of the season. Otherwise, they may opt to send him on loan which can be key for his development.
Veiga can play anywhere in the defence. In addition, he can even play as holding midfielder and central midfielder. This makes him a key asset in any club. As of now, both Napoli and Juventus may plan to use him as defender.
Both of the Serie A clubs may find it easy to convince Veiga to join them. The 21 year old can get regular game time at the highest level. Juventus can even provide the Portugese with Champions League football.
