Juventus looking to replace Alex Sandro this summer

Juventus have reportedly been looking for a replacement following a couple of poor seasons from their otherwise dependable Brazilian left-back Alex Sandro in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old defender is having an injury disrupted season with the Bianconeri. Sandro has made 22 Serie A appearances with only 16 starts, managed to score twice and assisted once as well with just two clean sheets.

The Old Lady of Turin bought the Brazilian international from FC Porto in August 2015 for €26 million. Since then he has been unshakable for the Bianconeri. However, he is in decline and hasn’t been able to produce his best for the last two seasons.

His contract with Andrea Pirlo’s side will end in June 2023. However, Juventus are looking to offload their star before they can get some transfer fee and bring a new left-back.

Who will be the replacement for Sandro at Juventus?

According to ilbianconero, Juventus are ready to sell Alex Sandro in the summer if they get the asking price of €25 million for their defender. Chelsea are among the willing parties to take Sandro to southwest London but in a swap deal involving Emerson Palmieri.

However, Andrea Pirlo’s side are looking to bring Valencia’s Spanish left-back Jose Luis Gaya. The 25-year-old full-back is a staple for Luis Enrique in his Spanish national side.

Gaya has caught the eyes of other big boys of La Liga. Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have shown interest in the highly-rated left-back. The defender is unwilling to renew his contract with Los murciélagos.

The full-back has a contract until June 2023. In the fear of losing their asset to a direct rival, Valencia have offered Jose Luis Gaya to Juventus. And €25 million will be enough for the Bianconeri to land Gaya at Allianz Stadium.

If Juventus can manage to land either one of Emerson or Gaya, it would be a good fit for the Old Lady of Turin.
