Juventus are reportedly willing to buy Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann in the upcoming summer transfer window if Cristiano Ronaldo decides to leave the club at the end of this season.
Following the victory in the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta, the Bianconeri will be traveling to Bologna to play the last game of this season to qualify for the Champions League. However, destiny isn’t in their hands for that. A win might not be enough for them to secure the top four spot.
If Andrea Pirlo’s side fails to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season. Then it is highly unlikely that Ronaldo will stay at the Old Lady of Turin and not play the biggest European competition as he is already 36-year-old. This means he will miss a whole year at the twilight of his career.
Therefore, if Ronaldo leaves the Serie A giants this summer with one year remaining in his contract. Juventus have identified Barca’s World Cup-winning French forward Griezmann as their number one target to replace the Portuguese superstar.
Will Juventus buy Griezmann to replace Ronaldo?
According to La Stampa, From Spain and France, the rumors of Juventus being interested in Antoine Griezmann, are bouncing more and more insistently. The Bianconeri are thinking of a loan or an exchange with the Catalan club.
The report also claims that last year the sports director of Old Lady, Fabio Paratici made a record capital gain by selling Pjanic and taking Arthur, now he could try again with Dybala-Griezmann.
However, the French forward doesn’t want to leave the Blaugrana after just two seasons. Juventus are evaluating every situation and in the meantime, they are also trying to raise money and solve problems.
And According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are open to selling their French forward this summer if a good offer comes. So, if Juventus meet the asking price of Griezmann then they can land the forward at Allianz Stadium.
However, it will be interesting to see what will be the asking price of Barcelona for Griezmann. As they bought the Frenchman for €120 million. So, if this deal will happen then the player swap is the most likely to be the case.
