Juventus wants to add Alvaro Morata to Allegri’s attacking options

Alvaro Morata spent the last two seasons on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid. The Bianconeri had the option to convert the loan to a permanent signing for a reported fee of €35 million. However, the club from Turin wanted to pay a lower fee for the permanent transfer.

Juventus made an offer to Atletico Madrid for the Spanish international, however, the Rojiblancos rejected the offer. Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone seems to have Alvaro Morata in his plans for the upcoming season as the forward has been used extensively in pre-season.

In the recently concluded pre-season friendlies, Alvaro Morata played all the games for the Rojiblancos. He was in fine scoring form as well as he bagged 4 goals in 4 games. The brunt of the scoring ironically was borne by Juventus when they faced Atletico Madrid recently. The Spanish international scored a hattrick against his former club for Diego Simeone’s Atleti.

Alvaro Morata will be the perfect backup to Dusan Vlahovic

Juventus is pushing for the signature of the striker to ensure a quality backup to their Serbian superstar. Dusan Vlahovic was signed from Fiorentina after sublime goalscoring form in Serie A and has continued to impress even at the Allianz Stadium. However, as Juventus looks to compete in multiple competitions, depth in the squad is necessary.

Alvaro Morata suits the playing style of the club and can be available for cheap as compared to other alternatives. The Spanish international will be out of contract at Atletico Madrid soon which makes Juventus feel that they can lure Atletico into selling the striker for less than €35 million as well.

However, Atletico Madrid seems to be reluctant to sell for a lower price. The recent goalscoring exploits from the Spanish forward will further make the club stick to their valuation for the player. Massimiliano Allegri wants Alvaro Morata as the attacking option ahead of others and is pushing for the club to spend the cash on the player. It will be interesting to see if Juventus will break the bank to secure the signing of Alvaro Morata or not!!
