The Swedish youngster of Juventus Dejan Kulusevski has emerged as the target for Manchester United to solve the right-wing problem. Last summer they went all out for Borussia Dortmund’s English winger Jadon Sancho. But, the two clubs could not reach a settlement on the transfer fee.
The Red Devils then bought Ivory Coast’s 18-year-old winger Amad Diallo from Atalanta but he is too young to become a regular first-team player at Old Trafford.
Kulusevski has made 26 appearances with 15 starts in the Serie A for Bianconeri this season. The 20-year-old winger has scored three goals and assisted just once. He hasn’t been able to replicate his last year’s form. The transfer hasn’t gone quite well as Juventus expected when they bought him from Atalanta last year.
Will Manchester United go for Juventus winger Kulusevski?
Manchester United want a proper winger and the highly-rated Swedish winger of Juventus Kulusevski will be a perfect option for that. So, they put his name on their shortlist of right-wingers. But Kulusevski has a contract with The Old Lady until June 2025. This means he won’t be cheap for United.
Kulusevski joined the Atalanta youth system on 7 July 2016 from Brommapojkarna, before making any senior appearance for the club. He made his Serie A debut on 20 January 2019, coming on as a substitute for Marten de Roon in a 5-0 away win against Frosinone.
On 18 July 2019, Kulusevski signed for Parma on loan until June 2020. The Swedish international scored his first Serie A goal in a 3-2 home win against Torino.
Following his form while on loan with Parma during the first part of the 2019–20 Serie A season. He scored four goals and provided seven assists in 17 league appearances. Kulusevski joined Juventus in January, for €35 million, which could possibly rise to €44 million with add-ons.
Kulusevski was sent back on loan to Parma for the remainder of the season. The highly-rated winger finished the season with 10 goals and nine assists.
Manchester United will have to spend big if they want Juventus star Kulusevski in this summer. He could cost around €70-80 million. Even though he hasn’t had a great season. But Juventus might sell him for a cheaper price as they are struggling with financial problems due to the pandemic.
