As the first footballer from India to score a hat-trick in the top level of Europe, Jyoti Chauhan, an Indian women’s football player, will forever be remembered.  She attained this accomplishment while representing Dinamo Zagreb against ZNK Agram in the last league game of the season of the Croatian Women’s First Football League.

The 23-year-old scored her first goal in the 28th minute, and shortly after that, in the 37th minute, she scored her second. In the 46th minute of the second half, Chauhan scored her third goal to clinch a historic hat-trick. She scored three goals, helping Zagreb overcome Agram 4-1.

Earlier this year, in March, Jyoti Chauhan helped Dinamo Zagreb defeat Rijeka 4-0 by becoming the first football player from India to score a goal in the Croatia Women’s First Football League. Since then, she has maintained a position in the starting lineup and scored nine goals to conclude the league campaign.

Jyoti Chauhan and Soumya Guguloth were given the opportunity to trial with the team prior to signing a one-year contract with Dinamo Zagreb ahead of the 2022–23 season. The trial was held by “Women in Sports,” and the assistant coach Mia Medvedoski was there. She chose the two former football players from Gokulam Kerala FC in the Indian Women’s League. Following a favourable trial in Croatia, ZNK Dinamo Zagreb signed both of the young players. The team has a one-year deal with both of the teammates. Additionally, Soumya and Jyoti are the first foreign football players to ever play for the Croatian team. With a record-breaking 46 trophies, Dinamo Zagreb is the most successful team in the history of the Croatian League.
