Kai Havertz at risk of losing his place at Arsenal

Kai Havertz has been at the top of his game for Arsenal this season. He has craved his name as the main striker at North London since Arteta handed him that role. Despite him providing very good results on regular basis, Gunners have other plans for the number nine position.

Gunners signed Havertz from Chelsea to improve their midfield. But, Arteta started using him as a number nine due to not having enough options. Havertz responded very well and was able to provide consistent results.

Gunners wanted to sign a striker this season but never really got close to anyone. Arteta placed his faith in Havertz once again and the German responded this time too. Havertz has scored 6 goals along with picking up 1 assist in the opening 10 games for Arsenal this season.

Despite the good form this season Havertz seems to have not changed the plans of Gunners boss. Recent update from Fabrizio Romano reflects upon the future of German international along with the plans of Arsenal for the next year.

Fabrizio Romano speaks about the future of Kai Havertz

Fabrizio Romano wrote about Arsenal’s plans on his daily briefing for CaughtOffside. He also spoke about Kai Havertz and the future he holds at North London. Firstly, he said that Gunners did monitored the options for strikers this summer but later decided to not sign any. He then went on to share details about Arsenal’s future plans.

“There is a possibility that Arsenal try to sign a new striker in 2025 but it has not been decided as their full focus is on this season and the club are very confident about the current campaign” – Romano about Arsenal’s plans.

This shows that Arteta is still looking for a proper number nine and may pull the strings once again next year. Many top names are always linked with a move to North London at the moment. Lastly, Romano took time to write about Kai Havertz.

“As for Kai Havertz, I think he has been a fantastic signing for Arsenal; goals, assists and quality. He’s working hard on daily basis with Mikel Arteta’s staff and is always looking to improve and get better. Everyone at the North London club is happy with Kai and how he is performing this season” – Romano about Havertz.

These comments suggest that Arsenal view Havertz as an important player. He will stay with Gunners for sure but as for his place in starting eleven, it will very likely depend on who joins Gunners next year.
