But, things did not quite work out for the left back. He did have a good game overall. But, Erling Haaland would beat Marc Cucurella physically giving City the lead in the first 45. This was the perfect way for the Norwegian to get back at the Spaniard. Since the goal, fans haven’t been shy of digging out Cucurella’s video and questioning him. The left back will now be hoping to put in a strong display to shed off the mockery. But, it seems very unlikely that the fans will be dropping this anytime soon.

Erling Haaland did not hold back when asked about Marc Cucurella after the game. He would mention that he actually found the left back to be a little ‘funny’. The striker stated how the 26-year-old had asked him for his jersey last season. And, now he was singing about him in the summer. Well, the striker may have played it cool off-the-field. But, on the field, he gave his response in the perfect sense. He would beat his rival and score right in front of his eyes.
Regardless, the defending champions were able to secure a big win in their game 1. Meanwhile, Chelsea had to endure a tough loss at home. Both Erling Haaland and Marc Cucurella will now be aiming to help their sides win games. The Blues will be eyeing their first official win under Enzo Maresca.
