Kerala Blasters FC vs Bengaluru FC: Preview and Predicted Line-ups

Kerala Bengaluru, Football Express

Bengaluru FC look to end their winless streak against Kerala Blasters on Wednesday at the GMC Stadium, Bambolim.

The Blues have not won in five games. In the meantime, they lost four games on the bounce after securing a draw against NorthEast United in the last game.

On the other hand, Blasters drew their last game 1-1 against SC East Bengal in their last game after conceding a goal in the dying stages of the game.

The Tuskers are at tenth place with 10 points in 11 games whereas Bengaluru are at seventh with 13 points in 11 games. Kerala can go above their opponents with a win by a significant margin.

Kerala Blasters vs Bengaluru FC Preview:

Bengaluru have the upper-hand in the fixture against Kibu Vicuna’s side. They have won five games out of seven encounters against the Yellow Army. In their last game in December, won 4-2. However, since that victory, they have won only one game.

Kerala started this season poorly. But, their recent form gives their fans hope that they can improve and get near the top four. They have scored six goals in their last three games. Their leading goal-scorer Jordan Murray have netted six times this season so far.

His fellow attacker Gary Hooper has not been that prolific, but he has been influential in the Tuskers’ recent form. However, Kibu’s main concern will be his defence. The Blasters have conceded 20 goals this season with seven in the last three.

On the other hand, Bengaluru are also going through a tough time. They are a great side that has qualified for the semis in each of the three seasons they played. They have also appeared twice in the final, winning it once. So seventh place is certainly not good for them. Another poor showing against NorthEast in the last game did not do any good to them either.

Their poor run of form led to the sacking of their head coach Carles Cuadrat after five years and currently Naushad Moosa is taking care of the team. They have conceded 14 goals with no clean sheets in the last eight matches.

From the Coaches and Prediction:

“Bengaluru are a good team with good players. The circumstances are different but we are preparing for every game in the same manner, to play a good game and try to win and improve our defence and attack. They have good foreigners and Indian players,”

Kibu Vicuna

“I don’t want the players to be relaxed because we have beaten them once this season. Kerala Blasters are a motivated bunch and are high on confidence. It won’t be easy, that’s for sure. We’re not used to a bad patch at Bengaluru FC. It’s not easy, but we have to be positive and work the way we do. We’re still fighting for it. We have nine games in hand, and we’re not going to give up,”

Bengaluru’s interim coach Naushad Moosa

Score Prediction: Kerala Blasters 2-2 Bengaluru FC

Kerala will be more confident going into the game, but Bengaluru can defeat any team on their day. Both teams will be looking for a win and initiate a final push to get into the top four at the end of the season.
