Kerala Blasters face Odisha FC in their fourth match in the Hero Indian Super League on Sunday evening. Both sides have enjoyed opposite fates in the tournament so far. The Yellow Army have been winless so far while Odisha have been unbeaten. The Juggernauts are coming with a 6-4 win over SC East Bengal.
Will Ivan Vukomanovic’s side finally get back to winning ways ? Will Kiko Ramirez maintain their dream run in the ISL 2021-22 season?
Kerala Blasters were coming into the ISL 2021-22 season with high expectations after adequate pre-season preparations. However, it has been a disappointing start for the Men in Yellow as they are winless in 11 consecutive matches, counted from last season.
But, there have been plenty of positives despite the lack of good results such as the rock-solid pairing up of foreign centre-backs Enes Sipovic and Marko Leskovic. Vincy Barretto had filled the void left by Rahul KP on the right-wing while Adrian Luna still continues to be the creative playmaker. Rahul is the only injured player in the team as of now.
However, Alvaro Vazquez and Chencho Gyeltshen haven’t found his name in the scoresheet and both would be facing a tough challenge against Odisha up next.
Odisha have been one of the surprise packages in the ISL this season. After a disappointing 11th place finish last season, the club made major changes to their staff recruitment and foreign player recruitments too. Kiko Ramirez was sworn in as the new head coach for the North Indian club and have been enjoying a dream run in the league. Ramirez has no worries about any injuries to his players.
As observed in the last two matches, Odisha have no problems in front of the goal and would be giving Kerala Blasters’ defenders a tough fight. Since its inception as Delhi Dynamos in the first season, the Juggernauts have won four times as compared to Kerala winning five times in a total of 16 matches between the two teams.
