Leeds United have no intention of listening to offers for Jack Harrison

Jack Harisson

Leeds United has parted ways with two crucial players this summer already. The club is still identifying worthy successors to Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips. The club from Yorkshire is unwilling to sanction sales of any more first-team players.

Multiple Premier League clubs have reportedly expressed their interest for Jack Harrison. Newcastle United is one of the clubs that ‘admire’ Jack Harrison and want to sign the player to strengthen their attack. The Magpies are looking to add more goals to the team for the upcoming season.

However, Newcastle United have found out the hard way that goalscorers are expensive. The club has been rebuffed by the price tag slapped on Alexander Isak and Moussa Diaby by their respective clubs. The Magpies look at Harrison as a cheaper alternative for the club in the short term. However, Leeds United are unwilling to let Jack Harrison leave.

Jesse Marsch is keen to work with Harrison at Leeds and wants to retain the player. Newcastle United will have to surely cough up an offer that is too good to be refused by Leeds United if they intend to sign the attacker.

Jack Harrison brings versatility to the squad

The former Manchester City player prefers to operate on the wing. However, Jack Harrison can also be deployed as a wing-back on either of the flanks. Marcelo Bielsa has been crucial in Harrison’s development as a versatile player.

Newcastle United has identified Jack Harrison as a target primarily due to his versatility and ability to play in different formations. The Englishman is also known for his high work rate and contributes with recovery runs defensively.

Jesse Marsch values the versatility offered by the player and wants to make him an important part of his plans. Owing to the value of the player for Leeds, Newcastle United will have to pay a huge transfer fee for the winger. The club from Tyne and Wear will have to consider potential alternatives as well in case Leeds United refuses to sell. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see what Eddie Howe has planned for his attacking options ahead of the season.
