Leeds United hold strong interest in Chelsea star
According to TEAMtalk, Leeds are showing strong interest in Djordje Petrovic. The Blues are still unsure about what to do with the Serbian keeper. This will present Leeds to sign him by offering him regular game-time in Premier League.
Petrovic is 25 years old and is away from Stamford Bridge on loan. He is having a superb season with Strasbourg in Ligue 1. The Serbian keeper has played 29 games this season and has helped the club to sit on the third position. Strasbourg are only 1 point behind 3rd placed club and hence are in race for UCL spot.
Petrovic has been the backbone of French club this season. He has made 109 saves with 76.8% which is more than anyone else in the league. He has kept 10 clean sheets and has also save one penalty. This performances have helped him to attract interest from top clubs across whole Europe.
Chelsea are still not sure about the future of Petrovic. Earlier, it was reported that they might bring the 25 year old back to Stamford Bridge. But, there are also reports about them signing a new keeper. Hence, the player may agree to move away in order to play regularly.
The Blues definately need an upgrade on the current keeper. Robert Sanchez has failed to impress and this has costed the club on multiple occasions. On the other hand, Filip Jorgensen is still very young. He lacks experience and hence can’t be given starting role just yet.
