Leicester City met Manchester United at King Power Stadium on boxing day and it finished stalemate 2-2. Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes were on the scoresheet for United. Harvey Barnes and Axel Tuanzebe’s own goal were the two goals for Leicester.

The result of this match means Manchester United now lost the away victory streak in the Premier League but still, they remain unbeaten for 12 consecutive away matches.

The game for second place was great entertainment for the football fans. Both the teams played very well. Tactically it was a good game to watch. But neither team could find the winner even though Manchester United were ahead twice in the game.

With this draw, both teams remain at the same spot. Leicester City got 28 points in 15 matches and keep the second spot and Manchester United stayed third with 27 points in 14 games.

Leicester City:

Kasper Schmeichel(GK) – (6/10): Saved brilliantly a shot from Rashford. But he wasn’t at fault for either of the goals.

James Justin(RB) – (6/10): Should’ve done better for the first Manchester United goal. But he was good throughout the match.

Wesley Fofana(CB) – (6/10): He was good and made a great interception in the second half. He will be an asset for Leicester in future.

Jonny Evans(CB) – (6/10): Defended pretty well and he looked solid throughout the 90 minutes and played a very tidy game.

Timothy Castagne(LB) – (6/10): Couldn’t go attack as frequently as he would love but did well in defence.

Wilfred Ndidi(CDM) – (6.5/10): Leicester missed him heavily when he was injured and he showed exactly why he is a highly rated centre defensive midfielder.

Youri Tielemans(CM) – (6.5/10): Played very good alongside Ndidi. Overall a very good outing from him.

James Maddison(CAM) – (6/10): Didn’t have a great game in terms of his quality but played pretty well.

Marc Albrighton(RM) – (5.5/10): Didn’t have much joy against Luke Shaw and came off for Ayoze Perez in the second half.

Harvey Barnes(LW) – (6.5/10): Scored the equaliser from a great shot outside the box of his left foot. Apart from that nothing much to say about his performance.

Jamie Vardy(CF) – (6/10): Tried to go in behind United defence but didn’t have much joy in that. The second goal should have been his goal but scuffed the shot.

Used Substitutions:

Ayoze Perez(RW) – (6.5/10): Crossed the ball really well for the second equaliser.

Manchester United:

David de Gea(GK) – (6/10): Made a mistake but he was lucky not to get punished. Could not do anything for either of the goals.

Victor Lindelöf(RB) – (6/10): Played in an unfamiliar position but did well before his substitution for injury.

Eric Bailly(CB) – (6/10): Matched the pace of Vardy but lost him once and punished by Jamie Vardy, in the end, it came off Axel Tuanzebe.

Harry Maguire(CB) – (6/10): Dealt with Vardy really good and distribution was good as well. Missed a header in the second half.

Luke Shaw(LB) – (6/10): He was solid defensively and went forward as well, should have stopped the cross for the second Leicester goal.

Fred(CM) – (7.5/10): He was good throughout the game nicking the ball off Leicester players and made few crucial interceptions. He looked pretty solid in midfield.

Scott McTominay(CM) – (6/10): Should have closed down Barnes, didn’t make a proper challenge to stop him. But he was good in the middle of the park.

Bruno Fernandes(CAM) – (7.5/10 ): His touch for the first goal came off great but he was lucky that it came off. Made the mistake for the first Leicester goal. Missed a header in front of the goal but finished the second goal brilliantly.

Marcus Rashford(LW) – (6.5/10 ): Should have had a hat trick but Missed two great opportunities. But scored from a great Bruno Fernandes touch on the 23rd-minute mark. But the overall play was sloppy.

Daniel James(RW) – (5/10): Didn’t have a great impact after his back to back start. He was substituted early in the second half.

Anthony Martial(CF) – (4.5/10): Didn’t have a good game looked sluggish and in the end, came off for Cavani.

Used Substitutions:

Paul Pogba(LM) – (6/10): Came in for Dan James but didn’t do much for his team.

Axel Tuanzebe(RB) – (5.5/10): He didn’t have to do much but didn’t mark Vardy for the second Leicester goal and it hit his knee and went in.

Edinson Cavani(CF) – (7/10): Great pass for the second Manchester United goal and he looked very lively.

Man of the Match:

Bruno Fernandes is our man of the match, finishing on the second goal was super and the touch for the first goal came off brilliantly as well.
