Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has reportedly told the new manager Julian Nagelsmann that he is looking forward to the next season with the Bavarians as per the report in German outlet Bild

The record German Bundesliga Champions signed the Polish sensation back in 2014 for free. The 32-year-old had two scintillating campaigns for the German giants where he helped the club to triumph every possible trophy over this period.

The forward also broke Gerd Muller’s 50 years’ record last season on the final day. The former Borussia Dortmund forward scored 41 goals in a single Bundesliga season surpassing Muller’s 40 goals barrier.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena this summer. Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly looking to sign Polish forward. However, the speculation has dimmed down a bit and the striker is open to staying at the club.

Lewandowski will remain at Bayern:

According to the report in Bild, the forward has had a conversation with the manager Julian Nagelsmann and the striker has clearly stated that he is not looking to relocate his future away from Munich and is ready to start the season with the new manager.

Bayern Munich have been struggling with their wage structure this summer. And few players are demanding as much salary as Lewandowski earns to renew their contract. Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Kingsley Coman are among those players.

However, the German giants do not want to break their wage structure and offer all of them huge financial packages. So, they are currently in negotiations with those players to find a reasonable solution for this problem.

Robert Lewandowski still has two years remaining in his current contract with Bayern Munich. And it will be interesting to see if the German giants would want to give their talisman a new contract or not, given the player will be 34-year-old at the end of this current contract.

The 32-year-old has showcased great performance in the last couple of seasons. And it will be interesting to see if he can continue to show his class at the twilight of his career. It will be a very tough decision for the Bayern board whether to offer a new contract to the Polish striker or let him leave for free in the mid-thirties.
