According to Forbes, Messi made 130 million between May 2021 and May 2022. He earns 35 million dollars annually in PSG. He also received a 25 million joining fee from the Paris giants.
Forbes reports that he made 75 million dollars from his off-filed earnings. The Argentian has a 20 million annual contract with fan token site Socios. Apart from this, he is also the primary sponsor of PepsiCo, Budweiser, and ADIDAS.
Over his career, the forward has earned over 1.15 billion dollars. Only five other athletes have crossed the 1 billion mark. Tiger woods, Roger Federer, Floyd Mayweather, and Lebron James, and fellow footballer Cristiano Ronaldo are the other five athletes.
He owns a host of luxury cars. In 2016 he brought a 1957 Ferrari 335 Sport Spider Scaglietti, the most expensive car ever. La Pulga owns a 15 million dollar private jet, which he uses for his travels.
Messi’s private home in Castelldefels on the outskirts of Barcelona cost him around 7 million dollars. He also owns a chain of hotels and a mansion in his hometown Rosario in Argentina.
Messi, however, is also generous with his wealth. The Lionel Messi Foundation, formed in 2007 with the partnership of UNICEF, helps vulnerable children worldwide. In 2017 the foundation built classrooms for 1600 war-orphaned children in Syria. This is only one of the projects undertaken by the foundation. Messi also regularly helps provide funds for Argentina.
