Lionel Messi receives a physical threat from Canelo Alvarez following his ‘bulls***’ dressing room antics

Two club leaders

Canelo Alvarez, the reigning world boxing champion, has shockingly told Lionel Messi that he better not “find him“. After accusing the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner of insulting the Mexican flag. Messi scored the decisive goal in Argentina’s recent 2-0 group-stage victory against Mexico at the World Cup in Qatar, seriously undermining Canelo’s chances of moving on to the knockout stages. However, it wasn’t the outcome that seemed to enrage the 58-time champion; rather, it was the post-race festivities in the locker room.

The great player for Paris Saint-Germain seemed to kick a Mexican jersey that was lying on the ground as he removed his boots. “Did you guys witness Messi wiping the floor with our shirt and flag, He better hope to God that I don’t catch him,” an angry Alvarez said on Twitter.

The world champion said

“Just like I respect Argentina, he has to respect Mexico!, I’m not talking about the country as a whole, just about the bulls**t that Messi did.”

Sergio Aguero defends his teammate

Sergio Aguero, a former teammate for Argentina and current international roommate, has since interfered. The boxer was answered by the Manchester City legend that

“Mr. Canelo, don’t look for excuses or problems, surely you don’t know about soccer and what happens in a locker room. The shirts are always on the floor after the games are over due to sweat and then if you see well, he makes the movement to remove the boot and accidentally hits it.”

Not just Aguero, but a fair mixture of Argentina and even Mexico supporters have come together to defend Messi’s behavior in response to Alvarez’s outburst.

One fan wrote:

“He’s [Alvarez] just looking for attention since he’s no longer relevant. Honestly I never heard of him till now, He clearly taking off his shoes.”

Messi has not responded to the situation directly. He did admit that following the 2-0 victory, Argentina’s main feeling was a relief as they avoided an early and humiliating tournament exit.
