Liverpool Player Ratings and Man of the Match Against Wolves

Fans returned to Anfield as Liverpool welcomed them back with a comfortable 4-0 win against Wolves. We are bringing you our Player Ratings and Man of the Match performance from this fixture for Liverpool.

The Reds were irresistible as fans were welcomed back to Anfield for the first time since March to support them as Champions for the first time.

Goals from Wijnaldum, Matip, Salah, and an own goal from Semedo under pressure from Sadio Mane sealed the win for the reds.

Liverpool remained top of the table alongside Tottenham Hotspur after this win and Wolverhampton Wanderers slipped to 10th position.

Caoimhin Kelleher – 8

Tremendous fingertip saves early on for the debutant. Two top aerial claims and tips-away underline his authority and composure. Very impressive.

Kelleher is the established second choice and is said to have edged Adrian out of the way.

Neco Williams – 7

Picked up an early yellow card but recovered well. The youngster linked up well with Mohamed Salah and put in a few good blocks as he continued his development with a good 90 minutes.

Fabinho – 8

Missed one tackle against Traore which might have been disastrous but won the rest by bulldozing through.

Joel Matip – 8

Offered Williams excellent assistance and very solid. Very much enjoyed his header in front of the Kop for the third.

Andy Robertson – 8

The Scot was worried defensively on a few occasions, but handled them well and created a few good chances for the forwards.

Jordan Henderson – 8.5

Long ball prompted the opener and controlled the game from the centre for the Reds while performing defensive duties. A fine lofted pass set Wijnaldum away for the second goal, and he created the first for Salah too. Subbed.

Curtis Jones – 7.0

Good on the ball and worked hard for the team but also picked up a knock in the first half which hampered him.

Gini Wijnaldum – 8
Plenty of energy and covered acres of ground, with his strength and close control so vital in the midfield tussle. Then showed his attacking prowess with a brilliant finish for the second.

Mohamed Salah – 8.5(MOM)

Instinctive finish for his goal and a fine assist later on for Matip.

Roberto Firmino – 7

Looked much sharper than in recent games, linked play nicely, brought out the cheeky nutmegs a few times.

Sadio Mane – 8

A non-stop threat. Gave Semedo a nightmare, won free-kicks, created chances and worked back well – just lacked a goal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (on for Williams) – 7

Return from injury for the right-back, whose cross teased Semedo to put into his own net for the fourth.

Diogo Jota (on for Firmino) – 6

Bit of a run-out but little involvement as the game was already won. A lively cameo against his former club.

Naby Keita (on for Henderson) – n/a

Back to fitness. Welcome Minutes for keita.
