Liverpool ace Salah opens up about the secret of his recent success

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has revealed the secret of his success since joining the red half of Merseyside.

The Egyptian joined the Anfield club back in 2017 from Serie A giants AS Roma. The winger enjoyed a stellar debut season under Jurgen Klopp. As he scored 32 goals and became the record holder for scoring the most goals in a Premier League campaign of 38 games.

Meanwhile, Salah has also helped Liverpool in winning multiple titles. One trophy each is the Premier League, Champions League, F.A Cup, Carabao Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup.

The 29-year-old has revealed the secret of his recent success. And said that being honest with him is one of the main reasons. He said on ESPN Brazil(via Liverpool Echo):

“I am really honest with myself. After the season, I tell myself what I want to achieve and what I want to improve and I just go from there. So I am being very, very honest with myself. I give time for myself on holiday just to be alone.

Salah also added:

“Then I write what I want to improve and what I want to achieve and go from there. As long as you are open with yourself and really honest with yourself you just think you will improve. I wrote a lot! The first thing I wrote, I remember, was to win the Champions League again with the club and then the Premier League. I don’t know why, but I put numbers next to them and I always put the Champions League first.

“It motivates me during the season. From time to time I keep going back and looking at what I wrote. Just to win the Champions League and the Premier League again with this club here. That’s what I can say [of future goals].”

Can Salah help Liverpool in winning the quadruple?

Liverpool have already won two domestic cups. And they are the favorite to win the Champions League as well. They will face Real Madrid in the final in Paris.

However, Jurgen Klopp‘s side are currently the second-favorites to win the league. If the Reds can somehow manage to win the quadruple then they will register themselves in history. As no one has ever achieved that triumph in English football.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah started the campaign for Liverpool brilliantly. And he was one of the best players in the world during that period. However, since the start of the new year. The 29-year-old has lost his way a bit.
